Oct. Tenth Last and Size Guide
EASY AS 1, 2, 3
With years of experience in the shoe trade, together with the people behind Oct. Tenth we developed a set of 8 different last. All lasts are based on the UK sizing system, with the aim of introducing the beautiful shoes made by our Shanghai-based workshop to an international clientele all around the world.
The 8 last names are reminiscent of the city where the shoes are crafted (the Shang and Hai lasts), the river that flow through it (the Huang and Pu lasts), or one of its districts (Jing, An, O and K). In terms of aesthetics, the Huang and Pu lasts are the more traditional, British inspired lasts with full volume and soft curves. The Jing an O, while also typically British, feature a more rounded toe but an overall slimmer aesthetic. The Shang and Hai lasts are more contemporary, with harder edges and an elongated shape. This is similar to the K, although the K offers a bit more volume and softer toe. We will discuss the fit aspect of each last individually below.
At the bottom of the page you will also find a conversion table that you can use to determine your size.
1. Last
Huang Last
The Huang last, together with the Pu last, is the most popular last from Oct. Tenth. It features a soft square toe and curved last shape that follows the natural form of the foot (a so-called banana shaped last). It has a comfortable volume under the vamp, and is made to a standard F fitting. The heel is narrow and hugs the foot well, and there is plenty of arch support.
The fitting advise for this last is to take your regular UK size, or convert your regular EU or US size to the corresponding UK size (please see the chart below).

Pu Last

Hai Last

K Last
The K last is a relative of the Shang and Hai last. As such, it is also a more narrow last, but instead of the sharp square toe on the Shang, it features a softer square toe.

Jing Last
The Jing last is our most rounded last, suitable for loafers, casual derby shoes or very classic oxford captoe models.

An Last
The An last is based on the Huang last, and the fit is almost exactly the same, besides a lower instep.
